2021 by the Numbers: ReefCI Conservation Accomplishments
December 12, 2021

A sincere thanks to all of our 2021 volunteers who helped Reef Conservation International achieve so much even through our rocky road to recovery post-covid.
2021 marine conservation achievements by the numbers:
- 9,105 Invasive Lionfish removed from the Sapodilla Cayes Marine Reserve Park waters
- 348 bags (7,656 pounds) of trash and plastic removed from the ocean via our volunteer beach cleanups
- 1,188 marine conservation presentations by our staff to increase awareness and knowledge of reef ecosystems
Reef Conservation International’s mission is to protect our oceans through hands-on conservation action and marine environmental education and awareness. We empower everyday global citizens to take an active role in directly protecting and conserving the Belize Barrier Reef and our oceans that we love via our marine conservation projects and environmental education and awareness.
