Endangered Species Day

The third Friday of every May is World Endangered Species Day. Unfortunately, many amazing animals and plants are at risk of going extinct and Belize has several species on the threatened and endangered list. This includes iconic animals like jaguars, scarlet macaws,howler monkeys, tapirs and West Indian manatees.

However, it is not all bad news. On our island, ReefCI and our volunteers are helping an endangered species recover – the endangered Hawksbill sea turtle.
